About Us

Josefin Dolsten-Kuhel, Founder and CEO of JDK Strategies, is a senior communications leader with more than a decade of experience in media, PR and strategy.

Recognized as top LGBTQ+ PR leader by PR Week, she is an expert in helping mission-driven organizations raise awareness about their work and navigate complex issues. Prior to founding JDK Strategies, she led campaigns at prominent social-impact agencies, including Global Health Strategies, Fenton Communications, and Bryson Gillette.

Josefin has worked with major nonprofits and social impact organizations, including the Gates Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, GoFundMe, Moms Demand Action, Native Forward Scholars Fund, Vera Institute of Justice, Center for AI Safety, and others. She brings particular expertise in public health, education, LGBTQ+ rights, and faith-based social justice.

She has secured hundreds of media placements including in the New York Times, MSNBC, CNN, TIME, The Economist, San Francisco Chronicle, The Guardian, Chalkbeat, Tech Policy Press, and Women’s Health.

A former reporter with bylines in the Daily Beast, Refinery 29, GO Magazine, Electric Literature, PR Daily, the Forward, and JTA, Josefin has unique insight into how reporters think and has successfully trained dozens of spokespeople, including leading activists and C-suite leaders, on how to handle tricky interviews.

Josefin serves as a board member of Cornell University’s LGBTQIA+ Alumni Association and the Jewish Democratic Council of America’s New York network. She lives in New York with her wife, Tali.
